Dr Hamid Hamid

Health is defined as the state of physical, psychological and social well-being and not just the absence of disease. I believe that General Practice is the only specialty to look at all aspects of health together. I attended medical school at Kings College, London and qualified in 2000. I undertook my GP training in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire which involved working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Accident and Emergency, and General Medicine. I also worked with the diabetes team at Peterborough District Hospital due to an interest in diabetes. Upon completion of my GP training, I worked for 6 years in a busy suburban practice in Slough. During my time there I successfully completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical and Dental Education, a qualification which is essential for doctors who wish to have a training role. As a GP, I am used to dealing with the full range of medical problems presented by adults and children in day to day practice. I grew up in Slough, and attended Slough Grammar School before leaving for medical school, where I met my wife. My favourite pastimes are badminton and cycling. We currently live in Maidenhead with our 2 children.
